Expiring coupons...

So those of you who know my coupon organization system know that I save the entire insert from the papers and clip coupons as those items come on sale. Since I buy 4 newspapers, this means I have LOTS of inserts filed away at any given time! Many people ask me, "How do I know when the coupons are expired?" and "What do I do with my expired coupon inserts?" Welcome to Tracy's Tidbits....

Hi everyone! I've decided to start this new blog about what's going on in my life! I plan to share my couponing conquests, fun family stories (especially as we embark on a family goal of training to run a 5K!), my adventures as I learn photography, and any other interesting tidbits of information I think you might like to hear about! I already have so many ideas in my head of things I'd like to share! Also, I will be posting lots of links on this blog! CVS trip 3/19/11

Ok so I waited until the last day of the CVS sale and alot of the things I wanted were gone already. I am still SUPER happy with my deals this week though because I was down to my last bottle of good shampoo and I was able to replenish my stash today. Also, I scanned my CVS card at the wonderful CVS coupon machine and had 5 ECBs waiting for me! I would have used today to make my total even less but I didn't scan it until I was leaving :-( Oh well! It will definitely come in handy for next week and I kept my OOP (out of pocket) cost under $10 which is ALWAYS my CVS goal! So here is how my shopping trip broke down:

2- Aussie Shampoos = 2/$5.98(sale)
2 - Aussie Hairsprays = $4.99 each
Used (2) Buy shampoo Get styler FREE coupons
Got all 4 items for $5.98
Earned 2 ECBs

4 - L'Oreal shampoos = $5.99 each(sale)
Used (4) $2/1 coupons
Got all 4 items for $15.96
Earned 5 ECBs

THEN I had 18 ECBs from last week to put towards my OOP costs! So- my totals were:

Spent - $6.28

Saved - $41.78

ECBs earned - 12
